Channing Tatum is the Sexiest Man Alive according to People. I saw his buff self in the photo and picked it up strictly for the article of course! and read, wanting to know why he was chosen. Good looks? Check. Fit body? Check.
But the article went on to talk about Channing Tatum being “emotionally deep”. So that got me to thinking-what is it about fictional heroes that would make them the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’? It has to be more than the face and the body.
What is it that makes a fictional hero so sexy he would end up gracing the cover of a well-known magazine?

Great question! I am as drawn to a great jaw line and chiseled abs as the next girl, but for me, sexy comes from within. I remember when I fell in love with Jackie Earle Haley’s character Guerrero in the TV show Human Target. It was the fourth episode, Sanctuary, at the very end. He proved his loyalty to Chance by shooting a man in the back. I’ve been a huge fan ever since.
Loyalty, confidence, strength, intellect, ability, empathy, a strong code of ethics, and the strength of character to do what needs to be done when it needs to be done. Those are traits that when combined, will always sweep me off my feet.
Wow, those are good ones! I love what you said when you said ‘the strength of character to do what needs to be done when it needs to be done’.
Everything that has been mentioned are great behaviors for a hero. My favorite is humor. It’s not often that a hero is a balding, overweight and not young male. But in real life it could be. Just like that office that crawled under the bus. He was a hero, compassion is sexy. In our stories because we live a fantasy world everyone is beautiful. Great blog.
Humor is one of my favorites too and you’re so right. Compassion is sexy. Thanks for stopping by!
